Our Community

We give where we live

Giving back to the places where we live and work is part of our nature. Maximus Canada focuses on several community activities, while growing our own annual charitable event, UrbaCity.

Local engagement efforts

People are at the heart of Maximus Canada. We're proud to support our employees in their work with local communities, and to contribute towards their success.

Santas Anonymous Gift Drive

In support of the longstanding Santas Anonymous charity, which supports children and families in need during the Christmas holiday season, employees contribute presents, gift cards and money donations. Recent gift drives have contributed over 200 presents to Victoria-area children.

Breakfast at George Jay Elementary School

Every Friday morning since 2008, Maximus employees serve a nutritious breakfast to students from low-income families at one of Victoria BC's inner-city schools.

Paddle for Health

Volunteer paddlers take a fundraising canoe trip to support sick children in the Paddle for Health. Funds raised go to a local charity, expanding services and support to Vancouver Island families dealing with childhood cancer and blood disorders.

The UrbaCity Challenge

Maximus Canada is the founder and Presenting Partner of the UrbaCity Challenge, a downtown adventure race, benefitting the Island Prostate Centre. On race day, competitors use their wits, speed and teamwork to conquer unique Challenge Stations spread throughout downtown Victoria.

Over 150 Maximus Canada volunteers donate their time each year to organize and manage the event.

All donations support Island Prostate Centre, where local men and their families receive prostate cancer outreach information, early testing, support and counselling services. As a not-for-profit staffed primarily by volunteers, Island Prostate Centre is the only centre of its kind in Canada.

Since 2011, UrbaCity has raised over $390,000 for Island Prostate Centre – and counting.
