Maximus Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Karen Wallace as Chief Medical Officer, bringing deep clinical expertise and an international health perspective to the organization’s growing healthcare portfolio.
In this new role, Wallace will work with leaders and teams across Maximus Canada to support healthcare growth, strengthen clinical insight across solution development, and help identify opportunities where digital health, innovation, and strong partnerships can deliver greater value for Canadians.

Wallace joins the Canadian leadership team alongside her continuing role as Director of Clinical Partnerships & Innovation at Maximus UK. A clinician, educator, and healthcare innovator with a background in general practice and occupational medicine, Wallace combines extensive frontline medical experience with executive leadership in clinical governance, quality improvement, and healthcare transformation. She has been part of the global Maximus UK team since 2018, holding national roles spanning clinical training, governance, and innovation, with a recent focus on responsible adoption of AI and digital health in clinical settings.
Wallace is a Certified AI Ethicist and has recently completed her MBA, including primary research exploring how healthcare organizations can adopt artificial intelligence responsibly while maintaining trust, safety, and clinical effectiveness. She also serves as an AI in Healthcare Postgraduate Lecturer at the University of Warwick. As part of her Responsible Officer role, she collaborates with NHS England and is a member of the NHS AI Ambassador Network.
